Frequently asked questions
Some of your most asked questions, answered.
Are there any adjustments associated with using Nuropod?
As with any technology, adjustments and sensations might be noticed. Nuropod is designed with safety in mind and no users have reported any serious concerns. While most users don't experience any issues, some may notice:
- A light tingling sensation on the skin where the product is applied
- Mild discomfort or redness at the application site – this can often be reduced by applying a little moisture, shortening session times, or switching ears
- In very rare cases there can be temporary adjustments in the first few weeks of use, such as mild nausea, headaches, or feeling off — these adjustments typically fade as the body adapts.
Can I use Nuropod while sleeping or exercising?
We don't recommend using Nuropod while sleeping or exercising — it's important to use Nuropod in a controlled environment where you can remain aware of its effects. Always prioritize your safety and well-being when using Nuropod.
Can I share my Nuropod with others?
All Parasym clinical research has been conducted with each participant using their own personal device. To ensure the safest and most effective experience, we recommend that every individual user has their own device. Patient registration is done for each personal device to guarantee safe use.
Is there any ongoing research or studies about Nuropod?
Nuropod is actively engaged in extensive ongoing research with over $10 million invested in studies and collaborations with 100+ research partners including Harvard, UCLA, and Yale. We currently have around 100 ongoing research partnerships exploring various applications of our neuromodulation technology. Our research focuses on areas including energy levels, mental clarity, digestive balance, sleep, emotional balance, cognitive wellness, athletic performance, and recovery.
Can Nuropod be used alongside medications and therapies?
When used as intended Nuropod is generally safe to use alongside your existing treatments and medications. However, there are some considerations to keep in mind. Vagus nerve stimulation may not be suitable for individuals who have undergone vagus nerve surgery (cervical vagotomy), individuals with a history of trigeminal neuralgia, individuals with a pacemaker or with an active implanted medical device that may interfere with vagal pathways, those diagnosed with severe bradycardia, or individuals with permanent implanted metallic or electronic devices or jewelry near the ear tragus. Children (people below 18 years of age) and pregnant women should also avoid using the device.
If you're unsure whether Nuropod is suitable for you, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine whether it's safe and appropriate for your unique needs, particularly if you fall under any of these categories.
Can I use Nuropod if I have an earring or a piercing?
We recommend that individuals with piercings that cannot be removed avoid using the Nuropod. If you have a piercing near the application site, we suggest removing the piercing and allowing the skin to heal for at least one week before starting your use of Nuropod.
What are the conditions that must be met for a return to be accepted?
In order for a return to be accepted, make sure your device is in its original packaging and is in fairly good condition – this means no scratches, breakage, heavy wear or any serious damage that might render your device unusable.
Can I travel with my Nuropod?
Absolutely — Nuropod is a great companion for travel, especially when it comes to managing stress and supporting a sense of calm during long trips. Since it contains a lithium-ion battery, it must be carried in your hand luggage, in line with most airline safety regulations. If you're unsure, we recommend checking with your airline or asking a staff member at the airport before your flight.
Can I use Nuropod if I have a pacemaker or other medical implant?
Individuals with a pacemaker, those who have undergone a cervical vagotomy (surgical cutting of the vagus nerve), and those diagnosed with severe low-resting heart rate should not use Nuropod. Additionally, individuals with a permanently implanted metallic or electronic device, or jewelry near the ear tragus should also avoid using the device.
Do you offer a warranty?
We offer a 24-month warranty on your Nuropod device, and a 6-month warranty period on your earpiece. Our devices are designed to be durable and undergo strict quality tests before being dispatched.
Can children use Nuropod?
We do not recommend Nuropod for individuals under the age of 18.
